About the collins-view Google Group
A Google Group helps us get the word out about meetings and important matters affecting the Collins View Neighborhood Association. We promise to operate this vehicle for the agreed upon purposes. At this time, we intend to use the collins-view group list for:
- Monthly meeting reminders with agendas.
- Summaries of monthly meetings, with any other Collins View news items.
- Crime prevention / safety alerts and/or information.
- At most one other news compilation per month, project report, or outreach message.
You can read the messages w/o belonging to the group simply by going to the following address:
http://groups.google.com/group/collins-view or clicking on it as provided. By joining the group, you'll have our messages sent to you, rather than having to remember to go to the google group page to check all the time. The group home page serves as a repository for our past messages!
Policy
We promise to use the list as intended.
Only the CVNA chair, co-chair, safety committee chair, and outreach committee chair are allowed to send announcements to this group. Rest assured, email addresses cannot be viewed by anyone but these same folks.
Messages sent are clearly marked coming from [Collins View] in the subject line.
Joining the Group
If you are new to the Collins View web-o-sphere, you can sign yourself up, as below. You will need to create a google account (if you don't already have one).
Alternatively, drop us a note and we can always sign you up directly.
We will also add email addresses for those who give them to us at our monthly meetings.
To manually join of your own volition:
- Go to the Collins-view Home on Google Groups.
- Click on Join this Group.
- Then either log in, or go through the process of creating a Google Account... and then log in.
- Once you have been welcomed to the group, click on Edit my membership (to the right.)
- Under How do you want to read this group? check Send each message to me as it arrives
- Don't worry about What nickname do you want people in this group to see? since you won't be posting anything directly to this announcement group.
That's it. You should be good to go.

Anyone can read the archives on the web.
A free Google Account is required to sign yourself up.
We can add your email address w/o signing you up with google if
that is easier for you.
Only "managers" can post messages, view the members list, create pages, and upload files.
Managers can send a message to collins-view 'atsign' googlegroups.com.
Folks are encouraged to send items to the outreach chair or neighborhood chair for inclusion in our Monthly News Compilation.
